Asheville Custom Fountains

 

We just finished this custom fountain for our clients in Town Mountain in Asheville. 

It sits at the entryway to the house. Allowing a relaxing sound and feel as they come home.

Asheville Landscaping: Stone Walkway

 

Working on a natural stone pathway in Asheville, NC this week. 

We are using a cut Crab Orchard flagstone with a Paint Creek cobblestone as filler. 

This is a dry laid walkway, meaning that there is no mortar or concrete used as we construct the path. All the stonework is set on compacted gravel. This allows a structural base for the stone that is free draining. 

 Dry laid stone work will last a lifetime if installed correctly. It has the ability to move slightly with the ground. Unlike concrete that would crack with the smallest movement.

Asheville Water Feature

Here is a video detailing the construction of a large waterfall project we installed for our clients in Asheville, NC. 

The project includes a custom waterfall and a large bog filter/ intake bay. The big will soon be planted with a variety of marginal and filtering aquatic plants. 

We also installed a low voltage aquatic and landscape lighting system, an aeration system to help keep the pond healthy and full landscaping around the waterfall area.

 Just got this waterfall flowing today in Asheville. I am very happy with the outcome and so is our client. We work hard to build natural looking Waterfalls

Timber Stairs

 We are installing a new set of timber stairs for our clients in Asheville this week. Using 6x6 pressure treated lumber we are creating a nicely curved staircase from the back patio to the lower lawn area. 

The new stairs will help our clients get safely through their garden and keep them out of the mud. 

The previous staircase was dangerous and needed to be replaced. 

We will fill the steps with decorative gravel to create a simple and functional path through the garden.

Asheville Landscaping: Spring Landscape Design

 It finally got warm today in Asheville. 

The hot day made me think of this picture. It's a great time to consider a water feature for your yard. The flowing water cools the air around your garden and gives you the opportunity to splash you face in the waterfall or wade in the pond on a hot day. 

Installing a Pondless Waterfall is a great option for those of us who want a nearly maintenance free Waterfall. 

 It's a great time to plant so flowers too. Bring something some fresh life and color to your yard after a long winter. 

We added a little spearmint to this planter. 

Spearmint is a great mosquito deterrent and can be harvested for some ice tea on a hot day.

Is your Landscape Ready for Spring?

 Spring is here in Asheville! (I hope!)

It's a great time to get your landscape ready for the coming season. 

We spent some time this week in our clients yards blowing off hardscapes and ch cling for any winter damage. 

It's a perfect time to mulch your existing beds and check your irrigation system. 

If you have a water feature, you should get it cleaned out and check the pumps and filtration system. A little maintenance goes a long way. 

 

Your pond and fish are now just waking up from a long winters nap. 

Don't wait to long, it will be getting hot soon! If you wait until summer to get your pond cleaned you could disturb the ecosystem of your feature. 

April and May is a the prime time to clean out your pond. 

 Its also time to think about planning for your garden and planting some fresh flowers, perennials and trees.
